Matthew Sellers, DVM
Dr. Sellers is a recent addition to the veterinary staff at Danner Veterinary Hospital. He earned a Bachelor of Science through Oklahoma State University’s Ferguson College of Agriculture with a pre-veterinary option in 2009. He achieved his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Dr. Sellers’ postgraduate research at OSU included research on Gambian pouched rats and spay techniques in aquatic turtles. The first clinic where he practiced following graduation was Affordable Pet Care.
Although he enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Sellers’ special interests include exotics and advanced surgical techniques. He is a member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, the Association of Primate Veterinarians, the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He also works with non-profit big cat rescue facilities.
Dr. Sellers is married to Kelsi Ellis-Sellers. They have one son and one daughter. Their pet family includes crested geckos, Moors geckos, and a hermit crab.
Dr. Sellers’ journey to Danner Veterinary Hospital has been a somewhat circular one. He moved to Oklahoma from California although he grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally though, Dr. Sellers was born right down the road at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Another fun fact about Dr. Sellers is that he enjoys snowboarding!
